Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum)

The midnight bloom, king of flowers.

Our jasmine absolute is extracted from the blossoms of Jasminum grandiflorum by a solvent process, which is why it is an absolute rather than a steam-distilled essential oil. It has an opulent, honeyed, intensely sweet floral aroma with deep, tea-like undertones, and it is prized in natural perfumery as a rich floral heart and base note. It is highly concentrated, so a very little goes a long way.

Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the absolute from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add just 1 drop to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room. It is very concentrated.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in slowly. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
• On the skin: always dilute, and keep it very low. Mix 1 drop into 15ml of a rich carrier oil such as argan (about 0.3%). Never apply undiluted. Patch test first.

• Highly concentrated. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Skin use should be about 0.3% (1 drop per 15ml of carrier oil), well within the published dermal maximum of 0.7%. Never apply undiluted, patch test first and avoid sensitive or damaged skin.

Can I put jasmine absolute on my skin?

What is the difference between jasmine absolute and essential oil?
An absolute is obtained by solvent extraction, while an essential oil is usually steam-distilled. Jasmine flowers are too delicate for steam distillation, so jasmine is traditionally sold as an absolute.
