Cypress Essential Oil (Cupressus sempervirens)

The fresh, evergreen scent of the “Eternal Tree”.

Our cypress essential oil is steam-distilled from the needles and twigs of Cupressus sempervirens. It has a fresh, clean, coniferous aroma with woody-amber depth, like the crisp air of a Mediterranean forest. It is a welcome middle note in diffuser blends and natural perfumery.

Each bottle is made of glass, with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 3 to 5 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in short sessions.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in gently from a comfortable distance. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 2 drops into 10ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba (about 1%), or 6 drops into 30ml for a massage blend. Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• Dilute and patch test. Use no more than 1% on the skin (about 2 drops per 10ml, or 3 drops per 15ml, of carrier oil). Cypress oil can irritate or sensitise skin in some people. Never apply undiluted, and avoid the face and damaged skin.
• External and aromatic use only. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
• Conifer-type oils can be harmful to pets, particularly cats. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely when diffusing, and never apply the oil to or near them.
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have high blood pressure or any other medical condition, or take regular medication, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
• Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
