Our cardamom essential oil is steam-distilled from the dried seeds and has a bright, spicy-sweet aroma with a slightly camphorous, woody edge. It is loved for diffusing, for adding a sophisticated spiced warmth to citrus and floral blends, and as a middle note in natural perfumery.

Each bottle is a glass bottle with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 3 to 5 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in gently. Keep the tissue away from your skin and away from children.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 3 drops into 15ml of a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba (about 1%), or 2 drops into 10ml. Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• Rich in cineole: do not use on or near the face of babies or young children, and keep it out of their reach. Use only very gentle diffusion around children.
• May cause an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, keep skin use to 1% or less and avoid contact with eyes.
• For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
• Essential oils can be harmful to pets, especially cats and small animals, so ventilate the room and let animals leave when diffusing.
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before use. If you have asthma or epilepsy, ask before use.
• Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put cardamom essential oil on my skin?
Only when diluted. Use no more than 1% (about 3 drops per 15ml of carrier oil, or 2 drops per 10ml), patch test first and avoid the face and broken skin.

Is cardamom oil safe around children?
Cardamom is rich in cineole, so keep it away from the face of babies and young children and out of their reach. If you diffuse it, keep the session gentle and the room well ventilated.

What does cardamom blend well with?
It pairs beautifully with Sweet Orange, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Ginger and Lemon.
