Our frankincense essential oil is steam-distilled from the oleoresin of the Boswellia carterii tree. It has a deep, balsamic, slightly spicy aroma with a bright citrus top note, and it has long been burned and used in sacred rituals. It is loved for quiet evening moments, for meditation and mindful breathing, and as a rich base note in natural perfumery.

Each bottle is made of glass and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 3 to 4 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue, or rub 1 drop between your palms and cup them near your nose. Wash your hands afterwards.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 2 drops into 10ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba or rosehip (about 1%). Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• May cause an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, keep skin use to 1% or less and avoid the eyes and broken skin.
• Oxidised oil is more likely to irritate the skin. Keep the cap tightly closed and store the bottle somewhere cool and dark.
• For external and aromatic use only. Not for internal use. Do not swallow.
• Keep out of reach of children, and do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
• Ventilate the room and let animals leave freely when diffusing. Do not apply the oil to pets, and take particular care around cats.

Can I put frankincense essential oil on my skin?
Only when diluted. Keep it to 1% or less (about 2 drops per 10ml of carrier oil), patch test first, and avoid the eyes and broken skin. Stop using it if irritation occurs.

How should I store frankincense oil?
Keep the cap tightly closed and store the bottle somewhere cool and dark. Oils exposed to air, light and heat can oxidise, and oxidised oil is more likely to irritate the skin.

What does frankincense blend well with?
It pairs beautifully with Myrrh, Sandalwood, Lavender and Bergamot.
