Our lavender essential oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops of Lavandula angustifolia. Soft, floral, fresh and gently herbaceous, it captures the unmistakable scent of lavender fields in bloom. It is one of the most loved and versatile oils for diffusing, for bedtime rituals and baths, and as a balanced middle note in natural perfumery and home fragrance.

Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 4 to 6 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Inhalation: put 1 to 2 drops on a tissue or pillow corner, kept a little distance from your face.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 1 drop into 15ml of a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba for a gentle massage blend (about 0.3%). Never exceed 2% (about 6 drops per 15ml), or 1% for sensitive skin. Patch test first.
• Bath: blend several drops with a carrier oil or bath salts before adding to warm water, never straight into the bath.

Important safety information

• May cause an allergic skin reaction in some people. Never apply undiluted, keep skin use to 2% or less (1% or less for sensitive skin), and avoid the eyes and broken skin.
• Oxidised oil is more likely to irritate the skin. Keep the cap tightly closed and store the bottle somewhere cool and dark.
• For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
• Lavender can make some people feel drowsy, so take care before driving.
• Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on or near the face of babies or young children, and avoid regular long-term use on young children without professional advice.
• Lavender oil can be harmful to pets, especially cats. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely and never apply the oil to them.
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have asthma or sensitive skin, take regular medication or have a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before use.

Can I put lavender essential oil on my skin?

Is lavender essential oil safe around cats?
