Description
Garlic Essential Oil (Allium sativum)
A bold, pungent oil for the adventurous.
Our garlic essential oil is steam-distilled from the crushed bulbs of Allium sativum. The aroma is pungent, sulfurous and intensely warm, exactly as you would expect, only far more concentrated. It is a strong-character oil for careful diffusion in small amounts, usually softened with brighter oils such as lemon or rosemary.
Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

Ways to enjoy it
- A tiny drop in a blend with lemon or rosemary for a bold, savoury aroma.
- Careful diffusion in a large, well-ventilated space.
- A strong-character oil for experienced blenders who like pungent notes.
- An intense accent for room blends, used very sparingly.
How to use
- Diffuser: add 1 drop only, together with 3 to 5 drops of lemon or another bright oil, for 20 to 30 minutes in a large, well-ventilated room. The scent lingers, so clean your diffuser afterwards.
- Inhalation: put 1 drop on a cotton ball in a lidded jar, open it briefly at arm’s length and breathe in gently.
- On the skin: not advised. Garlic oil is a known skin irritant, so we do not recommend applying it to the skin, even diluted.
Important safety information
- Skin irritant. Not for skin use. Garlic oil can cause irritation, redness and an allergic skin reaction, even when diluted. Wash off any contact with plenty of soapy water.
- Garlic and other alliums are harmful to cats and dogs, and the oil is very concentrated. Keep it well away from pets, never diffuse it where animals cannot leave the room, and never apply it to them.
- Garlic is traditionally associated with effects on blood clotting. If you take blood-thinning medication, have a bleeding disorder or are due to have surgery, speak to a healthcare professional before use. Do not diffuse it near babies or young children.
- For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
- Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
