Cedarwood Essential Oil (Cedrus atlantica)

Warm Atlas cedar, one of the most ancient aromatics.

Our cedarwood essential oil is steam-distilled from the wood of the Atlas cedar, Cedrus atlantica. It has a warm, woody and balsamic aroma with a sweet, honey-like undertone. In natural perfumery it is valued as a fixative and base note, adding a deep, lasting foundation to artisanal blends.

Each bottle is made of amber glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 3 to 5 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Inhalation: put 1 to 2 drops on a cotton ball or tissue and breathe in gently. Keep it away from your skin.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 2 drops into 10ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba or argan (about 1%). Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• Not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Cedarwood is generally advised against at these times.
• Dilute and patch test. Keep skin use to 1% or less (about 2 drops per 10ml, or 3 drops per 15ml, of carrier oil). May cause an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, and avoid sensitive or damaged skin.
• External and aromatic use only. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
• Cedar oils can be harmful to pets, particularly cats. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely when diffusing, and never apply the oil to or near them.
• If you have epilepsy, asthma or any other medical condition, or take medication, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
• Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

Can I put cedarwood essential oil on my skin?
Only when diluted. Use no more than 1% (about 2 drops per 10ml of carrier oil), patch test first and stop if irritation occurs. Avoid sensitive or damaged skin.

Is cedarwood safe to diffuse around pets and pregnancy?
Cedar oils can be harmful to pets, particularly cats, so ventilate well and let animals leave the room. Cedarwood is generally advised against during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What does cedarwood blend well with?
It pairs beautifully with Bergamot, Lavender, Frankincense, Rosemary and Juniper Berry.
