Description
Rosemary Essential Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis ct. cineole)
The clean, herbaceous oil of the sunny hillside.
Our rosemary essential oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis and is sourced from Mediterranean hillsides. We select the 1,8-cineole chemotype, the fresher of the rosemary types, with a clean, penetrating, herbaceous aroma and a distinct camphorous edge. It is loved for diffusing while working or studying, and in natural perfumery as a sharp top-to-middle note.
Each bottle is made of amber glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a black-collared glass pipette for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

Ways to enjoy it
- A crisp, herbal atmosphere for the desk, study or workshop.
- A herbal backbone for fougère-style and cologne-style natural perfumes.
- A fresh, camphorous note that sits comfortably with lavender, bergamot and pine.
- A traditional ingredient for your own diluted scalp and body oils.
How to use
- Diffuser: add 3 to 4 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
- Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in gently. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
- On the skin: always dilute. Mix 3 drops into 15ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba (1%, or 2 drops per 10ml). Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.
Important safety information
- Dilute and patch test. Use no more than 1% on the skin (about 3 drops per 15ml of carrier oil). Rosemary may cause an allergic skin reaction, so stop if irritation occurs and avoid sensitive or damaged skin.
- Avoid during pregnancy, and speak to a healthcare professional before use while breastfeeding. Avoid if you have epilepsy, and speak to a healthcare professional first if you have asthma or high blood pressure.
- Never apply undiluted. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children. Because it is high in 1,8-cineole, do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
- Rosemary oil can be harmful to pets, particularly cats. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely when diffusing, and never apply the oil to them.
- For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
- If you have a medical condition or take medication, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
- Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
