Our helichrysum essential oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops of Helichrysum italicum, known as immortelle or everlasting. It has a deeply complex aroma that is honeyed, herbaceous and tea-like with earthy undertones. A little goes a long way, and it adds a rich, golden accent to floral and resin blends.

Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 2 to 3 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in short sessions.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in slowly from a comfortable distance. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 2 drops into 10ml of a carrier oil such as rosehip or jojoba (about 1%). For a light facial oil, 1 drop in 10ml is about 0.5%. Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• Dilute and patch test. Use no more than 1% on the skin (about 2 drops per 10ml, or 3 drops per 15ml, of carrier oil). May cause an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, and avoid the eye area and damaged skin.
• Blood-thinning medication. As a precaution, avoid helichrysum if you have a clotting disorder or take anticoagulant medication, unless a healthcare professional has said it is suitable for you.
• External and aromatic use only. Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes.
• Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
• Take particular care around pets, especially cats, which are sensitive to essential oils. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely when diffusing, and never apply the oil to or near them.
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take regular medication, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
