Description
Bay Leaf Essential Oil (Laurus nobilis)
The crown of victory, in a bottle.
Our bay leaf essential oil, also known as laurel leaf, is steam-distilled from the leaves of Laurus nobilis. It has a powerful, spicy aroma with camphorous, sweet-herbal undertones, long associated with the laurel wreaths of ancient victors. It is loved for diffusing in the workspace and as a strong herbal middle note in masculine and artisanal perfumery blends.
Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a gold-rimmed glass pipette for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

- A bold herbaceous middle note for your own natural perfume and grooming blends.
- A morning pick-me-up scent, diffused in short sessions.
- A nod to the laurel wreath: a classic, noble aroma for a home apothecary.
How to use
- Diffuser: add 3 to 4 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
- Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in gently. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
- On the skin: always dilute, and keep it very low. Use no more than 0.5% (3 drops per 30ml of carrier oil such as sweet almond or argan). Patch test first. Do not add it to baths.
Important safety information
- Potent oil. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Skin use should not exceed 0.5% (about 1.5 drops per 15ml of carrier oil). Never apply undiluted, patch test first and avoid sensitive or damaged skin.
- Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a qualified aromatherapist or healthcare professional. Speak to a healthcare professional first if you have asthma or epilepsy, or take regular medication.
- Keep out of reach of children. It is high in 1,8-cineole, so do not use it on or near the face of babies or young children.
- Bay leaf oil can be harmful to pets, especially cats. Ventilate the room, let animals leave freely and never apply it to them.
- For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
- Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
