Description
Tea Tree Essential Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)
A fresh, sharp Australian classic.
Our tea tree essential oil is steam-distilled from the narrow leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia. The aroma is fresh, sharp and unmistakably medicinal, with a green, camphorous bite that most people recognise instantly. It is a practical favourite for household cleaning blends, laundry freshening and foot soaks.
Each bottle is made of amber glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a black-collared glass pipette for controlled, drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

Ways to enjoy it
- A fresh, clean-smelling spray for kitchens and bathrooms.
- A brisk addition to a foot soak after a long day.
- A sharp, green accent when softened with lemon or lavender in the diffuser.
- Freshening laundry, gym kit, trainers and sports bags.
How to use
- Diffuser: add 2 to 3 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes. Keep cats and dogs out of the room.
- Household: add 10 drops to a spray bottle of water with a little white vinegar, shake well and use on hard surfaces. Test on a hidden area first.
- On the skin: always dilute. Mix 2 drops into 10ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba (about 1%). Never exceed 1% and never use it neat. Patch test first.
Important safety information
- Toxic to cats and dogs. Keep it away from pets, never apply it to them or use it in their grooming, and keep animals out of the room when diffusing.
- May cause skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction, especially as the oil ages. Use no more than 1% on the skin (about 3 drops per 15ml of carrier oil), do not use it neat, and patch test first.
- Tea tree oil oxidises on contact with air, which increases the risk of skin sensitisation. Keep the bottle tightly closed, store it somewhere cool and away from light, and use it within 12 months of opening. It can be seriously harmful if swallowed.
- For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
- Never apply undiluted. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
- Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
