Our geranium essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and stems of Pelargonium graveolens, sourced from Northern Africa. It offers a rich, rosy, sweet aroma with a crisp, green undertone. In natural perfumery it is a classic bridge oil that unites florals, citrus and woods in a single harmony, and it is loved in skincare and home blends.

Each bottle is made of matte black glass to help protect the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 3 to 5 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in short sessions.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue or cotton ball and keep it nearby. Keep it away from your skin.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 3 drops into 15ml of a light carrier oil such as jojoba (about 1%), or 2 drops into 10ml. Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• May cause an allergic skin reaction, particularly if the oil is old or oxidised. Never apply undiluted, use no more than 1% on the skin and patch test first. Avoid contact with eyes and broken skin.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed, cool and away from light.
• For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
• Keep out of reach of children, and do not use on or near the face of babies or young children. Essential oils can be harmful to pets, particularly cats, so ventilate the room and let animals leave when diffusing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put geranium essential oil on my skin?
Yes, when diluted. Keep it to 1% or less (about 3 drops per 15ml of carrier oil), patch test first, avoid the eyes and broken skin, and stop if irritation occurs. Store it well, as older oils are more likely to irritate.

Is geranium essential oil the same as the geranium in my garden?
No. The oil comes from scented pelargoniums, especially Pelargonium graveolens, not the hardy garden Geranium plants. The two belong to different genera, despite the shared common name.

What does geranium blend well with?
It blends beautifully with Bergamot, Lavender, Rose, Clary Sage and Patchouli.
