Description
Cajeput Essential Oil (Melaleuca cajuputi)
A fresh, camphorous relative of tea tree.
Our cajeput essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of Melaleuca cajuputi, sourced from the swampy lowlands of Vietnam and Indonesia. A close relative of tea tree, it is often called “white tea tree”, but its aroma is brighter and more penetrating: fresh, camphorous and herbal with a slightly sweet edge. In natural perfumery it is a sharp top note that lifts heavy resins and adds a clean freshness to blends.
Each bottle is made of glass to help shield the oil from light, and comes with a glass pipette dropper for drop-by-drop use. Choose the 10ml size to try it or the 30ml size for regular use.

How to use
- Diffuser: add 3 to 4 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
- Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and hold it a little way from your face. Keep the tissue away from your skin.
- On the skin: always dilute. Mix 3 drops into 15ml of a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba (about 1%), or 2 drops into 10ml. Never exceed 1%. Patch test first.
Important safety information
- Rich in 1,8-cineole. Do not use cajeput on or near the face of babies or young children, and keep it out of their reach.
- May cause skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, use no more than 1% on the skin and patch test first. Avoid contact with eyes and broken skin.
- Cajeput is closely related to tea tree, which can be harmful to cats and dogs. Ventilate the room, let animals leave when diffusing and never apply it to or near them.
- For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have epilepsy, asthma or any other medical condition, or take regular medication, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
