Sage Essential Oil (Salvia officinalis)

Sage essential oil is fresh, herbal and camphorous, with the clean, dry fragrance of the garden herb. It is a powerful oil that needs very careful, light use.

Available in 10ml and 30ml sizes. Choose 10ml to try it or 30ml for regular use.

Ways to enjoy it

• A fresh, herbal note for room blends, used very sparingly.
• A clean, dry accent in herbal perfume accords.
• A short diffusion in a well-ventilated room.

How to use

• Diffuser: add 1 drop to an ultrasonic diffuser in a well-ventilated room, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes.
• Inhalation: put 1 drop on a tissue and breathe in slowly. Keep the tissue away from your skin and eyes.
• On the skin: always dilute. Mix 1 drop into 15ml of a carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba (about 0.3%). Never exceed 0.4%. Patch test first.

Important safety information

• May cause an allergic skin reaction. Never apply undiluted, keep skin use to 0.4% or less and patch test first. Avoid the eyes and broken or sensitive skin.
• Sage oil contains thujone, which can be neurotoxic. Use sparingly, keep diffusing sessions short, and never exceed 0.4% on the skin.
• Not suitable for people with epilepsy.
• For external and aromatic use only. Do not swallow.
• Keep out of reach of children, and do not use on or near the face of babies or young children.
• Take care around pets, especially cats.
• Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and speak to a healthcare professional if you have a medical condition or take medication.
• Essential oils are not medicines and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
